  7. This program is  a DOS shell that hides  the underlying operating
  8. system from the uninitiated user, yet  does not get in the way of
  9. the expert user.  The basic system consists of up to one thousand
  10. menu  files with  twenty-six menu  pages each.  Each page has ten
  11. entries for  a total of 260,000  entries to choose from.  You can
  12. start a menu entry by pointing to it with the cursor or the mouse
  13. and then press  the <Enter> key or left mouse button,  or you can
  14. simply  press the  number key  associated with  that entry.  Each
  15. entry can start a program,  run a batch file,  or execute any DOS
  16. command.  An entry can also have multiple steps which can include
  17. any or all of the  possibilities above plus special HDM functions
  18. and macros.  You can change  menu pages by  using the <PgUp>  and
  19. <PgDn>  keys  or  by  pressing  the  <A>  through  <Z> keys to go
  20. directly to  a page that  has menu entries  in it. Each  page and
  21. each  entry  has  a  user  definable  description.  You can go to
  22. another menu file  by using the menu action  function {MENU ###}.
  23. The menu files are numbered from zero to 999.

  25. The  <F10> key  displays a  horizontal  menu  at the  top of  the
  26. screen.  The  choices  from  the  menu  include:  "Menu", "Page",
  27. "Security", "Local", "Global", or "Exit". Help can be accessed at
  28. any time and will present you with another menu and  screens that
  29. explain how to use  the Hard Disk Menu System.  "Menu" allows you
  30. to add, change, delete, move, or copy the menu entry descriptions
  31. and their associated menu action. "Page" lets you change the name
  32. of  a Page  Index entry,  import pages,  switch pages,  or delete
  33. pages.  "Security"  allows  you  to  set  up  User ID's, security
  34. levels,  and passwords.  "Local" lets  you set  variables in  the
  35. current menu file and "Global" lets you set variables that affect
  36. all  menu files.  "Exit" leaves  HDM and  returns you  to the DOS
  37. prompt or opens a DOS window  where you can  run any DOS command,
  38. program,  or  batch  file.  Other  commands  in  the  Top  Menu's
  39. pull-down menus  allow you to  change colors and  window borders,
  40. set  up  macros,  add  menu titles,  set  mouse sensitivity,  set
  41. communications parameters, set time for automatic blanking of the
  42. menu screen,  and  set up  hands-off timed  execution of any menu
  43. entry any time of the day, week, or month.

  49. start TSR's from menu,  stack many commands & programs in  a menu
  50. entry, Telephone dialer, extensive on-line help, DOS window, file
  51. and directory pick list functions,  not a TSR,  user defined logo
  52. screen and  help screens, Auto-Build for  adding menu items, pass
  53. keystrokes to other programs, multiple menu interfaces, full menu
  54. customization of colors, borders, cursor, and windows.

  56. New "REPORTS" module allows activity log  reporting on  projects,
  57. users, menu entries, files, dates, and duration time. Export data
  58. to dBASE files, ASCII file, or printer.  Customize all reporting.

  61.                        any monochrome or color monitor.
